Melania Trump releases first statement in weeks after mysteriously vanishing from public eye

Melania Trump has unexpectedly stepped back into the spotlight.

Following widespread speculation about her recent absence, the former First Lady has released a statement addressing the rumors.

For those who haven’t been keeping up, concerns about the 54-year-old’s whereabouts began circulating after she missed several notable events tied to the Trump circle.

To start with, Melania—who shares 18-year-old son Barron with the 47th U.S. president—was notably absent from a meeting earlier this month (February 4) where Trump gathered with several world leaders.

She was also reportedly missing from a formal dinner hosted by Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Florida for Republican senators and their spouses, as well as from Super Bowl festivities last weekend.

The last time Melania appeared online was in a portrait posted to the @flotus Instagram account last month.

One concerned fan recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask, “Does anyone know where Melania is now? She used to be right by his side, and now she’s just… gone. I miss her being around!”

Another echoed the sentiment: “Where is Melania? It’s been quite a while since she’s been seen in public.”

Despite the swirling speculation, Melania is very much alive and well. This week, she broke her silence by issuing a statement confirming that public tours of the White House will soon resume, following the Trump family’s transition period.

Melania shared her excitement about the return of White House tours, saying:

“The President and I are thrilled to welcome visitors back to explore the incredible story behind this iconic and historic home.”

“There’s so much to discover about the American presidency, the First Families who have lived here, and the rich history of our nation — all through the unique, firsthand experience the White House offers.”

She continued, “This tradition is one of a kind across the globe, and we’re proud to carry it on for the hundreds of thousands of guests who visit each year.”

Reports suggest that Melania has been spending a significant amount of time in New York, where her son Barron is currently studying at NYU’s Stern School of Business.

When asked where she plans to spend most of her time, Melania responded:

“I’ll be at the White House. And when I need to be in New York, I’ll be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I’ll be in Palm Beach.”

She added, “My top priority is being a mother, a First Lady, and a wife.”
