A successful businessman, Arthur, was on his way to a meeting when he unexpectedly encountered Mr. Williams, his former schoolteacher, now homeless.
Shocked by the sight, Arthur approached him, recalling how Mr. Williams had been more than just a teacher, saying, “I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for you.”
Mr. Williams revealed a painful truth: “I’m here because of your mother.”
He explained that years ago, Arthur’s mother had pressured him to change Arthur’s grade, and when he refused, she falsely accused him of misconduct, leading to his dismissal and eventual downfall.
“I was blacklisted… and here I am,” he said.
Feeling responsible, Arthur offered to help, suggesting Mr. Williams become a tutor for his children.
Touched, Mr. Williams hesitated, saying, “I thought that part of my life was over,” but eventually agreed, filled with new hope.
As they walked towards Arthur’s car, he assured Mr. Williams, “It’s not over. Let’s get to work.”
